Learn more >On July 1, 2024, ZEHO ECO and Chengmei Group jointly won the bid for the Surrounding Siming Lake Ecological Wetland Restoration Project Design. This project is part of the Yuyao City Siming Mountain Area EOD Project and is a significant component of the "Zhejiang Province Happiness Rivers and Lakes Action Plan (2023-2027)." It plays a crucial role in ensuring the water quality safety, enhancing ecological quality, and achieving new development milestones for Yuyao Siming Lake.
Winning this project marks another major breakthrough for the company in the Ningbo area, following the successful bids for the Xiyuhe Flood Storage and Detention Area Construction Project in Haidian District in April and the Wuhan Key Lakes Basin Pollution Source Tracing and Water Environment Management Project in June. This success further validates the company's strategic market layout adjustments initiated in 2023, focusing on four key cities: Beijing, Wuhan, Ningbo, and Shenzhen, and establishes a solid foundation for future business performance improvement.
Surrounding Siming Lake Ecological Wetland Restoration Project Design
Guided by the Happiness Rivers and Lakes Action Plan, the Surrounding Siming Lake Ecological Wetland Restoration Project employs Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to create low-impact, near-natural lakeside ecological spaces that harmonize human and natural interactions. The project includes the construction of a 21.3-kilometer ecological trail, the restoration of 53.72 hectares of three ecological wetlands, and the creation of sixteen scenic nodes, where visitors can immerse themselves in nature and connect with the layered experiences of the sixteen sceneries, forming an ecological corridor that embodies the essence of a happiness river and lake.
(1) In the Natural Scenery
Known as the "Pearl of East Zhejiang," Siming Lake is celebrated for its poetic landscape, described as "ten miles of misty waves and nine caves of heavens, where mountains hide spirits and waters conceal fairies." Seventy-two peaks, distant and close, intertwine with the lake's shores, wetlands, mountains, islands, cypress forests, bamboo groves, rice fields, and sandy bays. Numerous legends and stories from historical figures enrich the area. Wang Yangming's philosophy of "unity of knowledge and action" subtly flows through the half-lake, half-cypress scenery.
General Plan
The project proposes a three-tier lakeside buffer system with a protection and enhancement approach of "layered protection, gradual purification, and transitional buffering." This method involves gradually determining the core ecological functions and protection and restoration measures to fully enhance the comprehensive ecological functions of the lakeside area. The strategy of "gradually decreasing intensity and dispersing human activity" is applied to reduce the impact of human activities on the ecological environment in a tiered manner.

(2) Sixteen Heartfelt Scenes
Around the lake, sixteen "Seeking the Heart" scenes are created, integrating the natural landscape of lakes and mountains with ecological isolation zones and wetland spaces, incorporating elements of cultural sentiment and functional experience. From nodes such as Sit Long Rock, No Flowers Viewing, and Moon Shielded Cottage, through Red Cypress Forest, Lake Sage Pavilion, and Silver Moon Beach, to Yangming Bamboo Grove, Mountain View, and Half-acre Pond, and finally to the Mountain Gate. This progression from seclusion and exploration to mountain walking, heart seeking, and enlightenment offers people a spiritual realm to experience natural beauty and comprehend the philosophy of mind studies.
(3) Creating Natural Waterfront Spaces and Ecological Corridors of Happiness Rivers and Lakes
Using Nature-based Solutions (NbS), the project aims to establish a lakeside ecological buffer zone characterized by natural, ecological, resilient, low-impact, and light-experience interactions with the landscape. It will create a multi-dimensional ecological corridor atmosphere, hosting activities such as lake cycling and marathons. By using art as a bridge, the project will allow culture and art to give voice to nature, creating an open-air classroom for natural education.
Promoting harmony and balance between humans and nature, the project will establish an environment that is beautiful, vibrant, inspiring, and responsible. Within the natural landscape, the "Sixteen Heartfelt Scenes" invite people to explore sixteen spiritual places where they can connect with their inner selves amidst the natural scenery.
